Anna Schofield's artistic journey emerged from an unexpected beginning in criminal law and corporate business. Following her creative calling, she transitioned to full-time artistry after completing an art and design course at New College Nottingham.
 
Drawing inspiration from her travels, Schofield captures the essence of natural landscapes through a sophisticated layering technique that combines Renaissance-inspired glazing with contemporary impasto methods. Her process begins with initial marks in acrylic or gesso, followed by multiple layers of oil paint that create what she calls a 'landscape of the soul.'
 
Working primarily with palette knives, fingers, and unconventional tools alongside traditional brushes, Schofield develops richly textured surfaces that evolve over weeks of careful consideration. Her dedication to capturing light, shadow, and vibrant color combinations reflects her belief in art's positive emotional power.
