Chris Bourne is a British artist whose work captures the timeless beauty of the English countryside through a distinctive pointillist technique. After graduating from Berkshire College of Art, he spent over a decade as an Art Director in London before answering the call of nature and relocating to Surrey to pursue his true passion as a full-time artist.
Drawing inspiration from his rural Oxfordshire upbringing, Bourne's creative process begins with extensive countryside walks, during which he meticulously records light and color in his ever-present sketchbook. These field studies form the foundation for his intricate paintings, which are built up through multiple layers of carefully placed dots of color, echoing the techniques of the Impressionist masters.
