Anna Cher has drawn for as long as she can remember, guided by an early sense that art is both a source of joy and a way of seeing the world more deeply. Classically trained in Eastern Europe, she developed her skills within a rigorous academic tradition that emphasized discipline and precision. Over time, Anna felt compelled to move beyond strict rules and toward a more personal, liberated language of expression. Her artistic journey has become one of self-discovery – each year bringing bolder choices, new experimentation, and a stronger connection to her inner voice.

Anna’s style is a dynamic fusion of abstract expression and recognisable, real-world forms. Working primarily in acrylic, she embraces the medium’s quick-drying immediacy, preserving the spontaneity and vitality of each brushstroke. She often combines fluid passages of paint with textured impasto strokes, creating contrast, depth, and movement. For Anna, painting is a therapeutic act – an invitation to be present, fearless, and free. Her process often begins late in the evening, when she can slip into hours of deep focus, returning later with fresh eyes to know when a work is complete.
Movement lies at the heart of Anna’s practice. Passionate about sports, dance, and figure skating, she channels physical energy into visual rhythm, infusing her canvases with vitality and momentum. Her work lives in the tension between structure and spontaneity – a dance between discipline and childlike joy. Through this interplay, Anna seeks to capture what matters most: presence, freedom, and above all, joy.
