A Visit To Cirencester Original Art by Chris Bourne
Acrylic Painting
Framed: 90cm x 120cm
This dynamic architectural scene showcases Brown's masterful command of Impressionist and Fauvist influences. The artwork captures Cirencester's iconic parish church tower rendered in warm golds against a dramatic turquoise sky, with the historic market town's buildings creating a colorful tapestry below.
Drawing from his background as a professional visualizer, Brown's distinctive style is evident in his energetic brushwork and vibrant palette. Each bold stroke contributes to the painting's sense of movement and atmosphere, creating a piece that perfectly captures the lively character of this Cotswold town through his characteristic emphasis on light and color.
About The Artist
Colin Brown is a British artist whose vibrant street scenes capture the energy and atmosphere of urban life worldwide. After graduating from Canterbury College of Art, he spent 24 years as a successful illustrator-visualizer, working with major brands including Hasbro, Mattel, and Cadbury's, as well as contributing to The Guinness Book of Records.
Drawing inspiration from Impressionism and Fauvism, Brown's distinctive style emerges from his background in visualization. His loose, expressive brushwork emphasizes light and movement, with each deliberate stroke contributing to the overall composition. Like his greatest influence Monet, Brown believes in the power of individual brushstrokes to create dynamic, atmospheric scenes.
Now focused on fine art, Brown specializes in street scenes that capture fleeting moments in time. His work deliberately avoids excessive detail, instead prioritizing the creation of mood and atmosphere. Alongside his painting practice, he shares his expertise through workshops and live demonstrations, while also accepting commissions through Buckingham Fine Art.
