Hayley created this piece by using a free association thinking state. The only limitations being the size of the petri dish, Hayley has used her own illustrations/parts of sketchbooks, as well as images found and collected over time from various sources, to layer over the finished ceramic piece. Using a free flow energy during this process has allowed creative tension to appear between the harsh coarseness of the stoneware and the delicate state of the collaged pieces.
