Coffee with the girls - on coffee mug by Debbie Farquharson
Coffee beans, coffee wash, pen on ceramic mug and paper collage
10 x 12 cm
A loose, warm take on a coffee shop scene with some girls in my family in a new experimental medium- coffee.
It is in a narrative type form.
I loved using the different sizes of crushed and whole beans in a relief way to portray different darker tones and the sometimes challenging use of coffee washes.
I felt that collage painting and the coffee beans made the cup into an art object and not an everyday coffee cup.
